As part of the Samsung Trio giveaway I recently got hold of some Samsung Galaxy Buds FE to go with my Samsung S23 phone. I have previously reviewed some other much cheaper bluetooth headsets so thought I’d review these as well to go with that review!

As you can see above the companion app (Android) gives a nice overview of battery status, connection status and you can switch on the various setting easily. The app can also turn on ambient noise when you make a call and this does really help to stop that weird effect you get sometimes when you can’t hear anything happening, for example if you are commuting and somebody else needs to grab your attention. The buds have a wing design and this for me results in a great fit and comfort resulting in being able to wear these for extended periods. I never had the loss of bass as a result of the buds not being snug in my ears as i have had with other designs. Quite a step forward for me. As these were effectively free this of course has a bearing on my value for money score – but as they are a decent step up from many cheaper buds and phones even at the street price which is often 25% less than the “standard” UK price of £99 I believe that they aren’t overpriced at all.

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE
Nice sounding and fitting Bluetooth headsets with some nice features and a premium feel! A step up from the cheaper headsets available
Pros
Build and ergonomics are really good
Sound great, fast pairing and connection
App is good, ambient sound and noise cancelling good as well
Cons
Obviously the app works better with Android
Glossy white finish will show marks easily
Bluetooth still isn't perfect, little drops in audio and the mics whilst good aren't better than the phone mics
